On October 23–29, an international EPICENTER esports tournament in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be held in St. Petersburg

The fourth tournament in the EPICENTER series will have a $500,000 prize pool.

St. Petersburg is to hold its first event from the EPICENTER series of high-profile esports tournaments. For those living in or visiting the northern metropolis, as well as for millions of electronic sports enthusiasts in the CIS, this tournament will be one of this year’s most important events.

The tournament’s play-off will be held at the Yubileyny Sports Palace on October 28–29. Spectators will be treated to a grand battle between the world’s best esports clubs, an impressive show, signing sessions by pro players, and souvenirs.

Two-stage open qualifiers will be held between September 2 and 10 in Europe, the CIS, America, and China. A closed qualifier stage will follow from September 11 to October 1. On October 23, qualifier winners will battle each other for two spots in the group stage.

Ten of the world’s best teams will take part in the tournaments. SK Gaming and Astralis have been the first to receive invitations. The rest of the invited teams will be announced after September 10. The prices and sales launch date for the tickets will be announced later.

The nationwide mobile carrier Yota will once again be title partner of the tournament. MediaMarkt, a European leader in consumer electronics retailing, will be an official partner of the event.
 
Yota was among the first Russian brand to actively support esports as it joined the EPICENTER project in 2016. Three EPICENTER: Moscow tournaments, in Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, have already been organized in partnership with the mobile carrier. The company’s products with a basis in mobile internet and Russia-wide access free of roaming fees, will allow all fans to watch the tournament from virtually anywhere in the country.
