Dota 2 EPICENTER Major announces partnership with Sony Pictures in Russia

The Russian subsidiary of the worldwide-known movie studio Sony Pictures Entertainment will become a partner of EPICENTER Major Dota 2 international tournament. The series with a prize pool of $1 000 000 will take place in Moscow on June 22-30.

As part of the partnership agreement with the American movie producer and publisher, viewers of EPICENTER Major’s Russian Twitch broadcast will be shown ads on the studio’s new release, “Spider-Man: Far from Home”. The story of a Marvel universe superhero will see light on June 28 internationally and on July 4 in Russian cinemas. A specialized advertising agency group, OMD OM GROUP, is promoting the movie together with Sony Pictures in Russia.

The partnership with EPICENTER Major marks the first integration of Sony Pictures studio into a Russian esports series, but not the first one on an international level. In turn, EPICENTER Dota 2 series has a history of being a promotional platform for international movie openings.
